THE MECHANISM FOR FORGIVENESS OF SIN

I do not purport to know all things - but I sure like to figure out how things work.  I wrote the following to a sibling about another sibling who is laboring under sin and who is having a hard time being charitable towards our father.  All I can say is this:  its a good thing he saw this particular sibling in her spirit form before she was born (and in her glory), otherwise it would be one hard pill to swallow (if it were me), being her father.  She has been vicious and mean towards him since she rebelled and went off the deep end over 30 years ago.  It has gotten particularly bad as of late:

Yeah – no sweat.  _______ really labors under a lot of anger.  These are my private thoughts only and not to be shared with other siblings; I think there is much unrepented sin there and as she ages and her mortality becomes more and more evident, she is faced with having to deal with it and come clean with her Maker (as we all have to).  As she has rejected the Church, she has no outlet to go through to obtain that forgiveness.  The correct path is through her (Heavenly) Father and earthly Priesthood reps.  Our father is a token of her Heavenly Father and also has the Priesthood (but obviously is not a Bishop).  Her rage is directed in that way towards our dad for that reason.  It is the M.O. of many people in that boat – and is the reason that they raged against Dad about ____________.  The very things they were accusing an innocent man of, they are guilty of themselves.  I picture the Savior bent down and writing in the dust of the street where the woman taken in adultery was being stoned.  In our accusations, many times, we reveal our own secret sins.  When we are casting stones through the windows of others’ abodes, we reveal the fragility of our own glass mansion.

Just some thoughts.  I pray more and more lately that they will be brought down to the depths of humility – if it must needs be by the things that they must suffer – so that they can begin their journey to healing and bettering themselves.  Until they recognize and confess their own weaknesses and are stripped of ALL pride, they cannot begin to be partakers of the salvation which Jesus offers.  The atonement is simply null and void until that point is reached.  This is why so many around us struggle in tragedy and difficulty.  God is being merciful in offering them a chance to come to Him and be humble in order to achieve greater spiritual things after they have passed through the valley of the shadow of death.

A last thought about not being respectful to our elders - including Church leadership.  The command is given and a promise.  One of the few of the 10 commandments that also contains a promise like the Word of Wisdom does.  We are promised that if we honor our elders, our days will be long on the land.  Translation - we will not be swept from off the face of it for insolence.  Could it be that right before ancient Israel and Nephite civilizations perished from the face of the land, that there was much discord and breakdown of the family as the children began to dishonor their parents (so long as the parents were striving for some sort of righteousness)?  Interesting to think about today, in light of how mouthy and insolent children are towards their parents......

  1. TRUTH AND AUTHORITY?

Where should Christians look for God's authoritative truth? Should it be the Bible? Should it be the church of your choice or the church you belong to by chance?

The Bible was completed in 95 A.D. when the apostle John wrote Revelation. Who wrote the Bible? Was it God or was it the church?

John 14:24-26 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent me. (THE WORDS JESUS SPOKE WERE FROM GOD THE FATHER) 25 "These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all the I said to you.

The words of Jesus were from God the Father and He said that The Father would send the apostles the Holy Spirit so they could remember all that He said. The words of the apostles were God's word, their words were Scripture, their words were the Bible.

In, John 14:24-26, Jesus was not talking to the Pope, John Calvin, Martin Luther, Billy Graham, Joesph Smith Jr, Mary Baker Eddy, cardinals, bishops, elders, so-called modern day apostles, preachers, pastors, nor any one claiming to speak for God. If the church or theses men as individuals, were speaking for God by new revelation, then, we would have added books to the Bible. There would the books of the Popes, the book of John Calvin, the book of Billy Graham, the books of elders, the books of churches, the book of Joesph Smith Jr. etc.

THE BIBLE IS THE AUTHORITY IN THE CHURCH.
THE CHURCH HAS NOT BEEN GIVEN THE AUTHORITY TO CHANGE OR OVERRULE THE AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE. THE CHURCH CANNOT ADD TO OR TAKE AWAY FROM SCRIPTURE!

  2. YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS

Many, who profess to be Christians, claim the Jesus is just one of many ways to heaven. If men would simply believe that the Bible is the only inerrant source for truth they could not reach that conclusion.

John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins;for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."(NKJV)

If you do not believe that Jesus is the Christ you will die in your sins. No man-made creed book can change that fact. To reject Jesus as the Messiah is the clear path to dying without forgiveness from sins.

John 4:25-26 The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). When He comes, He will tell us all things." 26 Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He."(NKJV)

It does not matter how many Bible commentators or self-proclaimed Bible scholars believe Jesus is one of many ways to heaven, Jesus is the only Messiah.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (NKJV)

    One way Jesus.

Acts 4:10-12.....name of Jesus Christ....12 "Nor is salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."(NKJV)

Pope Francis says atheists who do good works can go to heaven. Billy Graham proclaims that you do not even have to know the name of Jesus to be part of the body of Christ. Joel Osteen say he does not know if unbelievers will be lost or saved because he cannot judge. These professing Christians are not alone in their views. How sad is that?

PEW FORUM OF RELIGION AND PUBLIC LIFE: 57% of the evangelical church believes there are many religions that lead to eternal life.

IF YOU TRUST THE BIBLE AND THE BIBLE ALONE FOR THE TRUTH, YOU WILL BELIEVE THE WORDS OF JESUS. "IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THAT I AM HE YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS."

  3. WHY DO CHURCH LEADERS QUOTE MEN WHO TEACH DOCTRINE CONTRARY TO SCRIPTURE? BY STEVE FINNELL

Why do preachers of the gospel quote men who pervert the Scriptures? Why would you ever quote these men in a positive light? Why would church leaders ever believe men who teach and preach doctrine contrary to Scripture are worthy of being quoted.

Max Lucado Quote: "We never taught--the buzzphrase is baptismal regeneration, where you go into the baptistery lost and come out saved. We never taught that. Now, I am not saying there were not people in our church who believed that..."

Water baptism is essential to salvation. (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21).

Why would any serious church leader quote Max Lucado in a positive light?

John Piper Quote: "We are not saying that final salvation is unconditional. It is not. We must meet the condition of faith in Christ in order to inherit eternal life. But faith is not a condition for election. Just the reverse. Election is a condition for faith. It is because God chose us before the foundation of the world that he purchases our redemption at the cross and quickens us with irresistible grace and brings us to faith."

God want all men to be saved and all men have that choice.(2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.)(NKJV)

Why would a preacher of the gospel quote John Piper in a positive light?

Pope Francis Quote: "The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the blood of Christ, not just Catholics. Everyone! 'Father, the atheists?' Even the atheists......."But I don't believe, Father, I am an atheist!' But do good: We will meet one another there."

Good works cannot save anyone. (John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.")(NKJV)

How is it possible to quote Pope Francis in a positive light?

Billy Graham Quote: "....or the non-believing world, they are members of the Body of Christ because they've been called by God. They may not even know the name of Jesus but they know in their hearts that they need something that that don't have, and they turn to the only light that they have, and I think that they are saved, and that they're going to be in heaven."

Can you not believe in Jesus and be saved? (John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.")(NKJV)

Tony Campolo Quote? "going to heaven is like going to Philadelphia... There are many ways...It doesn't make any difference how we go there. We all end up in the same place.(Carpe Diem: Seize the Day, 1994 pages 85-88)

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.(NKJV)

Why would preachers and teachers of the gospel quote men in a positive light who pervert the gospel of Christ?

    Why not just quote Scriptures?
